    Chuffing/Port Chuff??

    Can anyone explain these terms to me!!?? Thanks!

    That would be the sound of air coming out of the port of a ported speaker. Usually only a problem with a poorly designed speaker that uses to small of a port.

    Chuffing can also occur when a rear ported speaker is placed too close to the wall. Some manufacturers will try to counter this by offering bungs for the ports and/or designing the ports to mitigate turbulence.
