    Bedroom Speakers

I am ready to buy bedroom speakers and my hard drive on my computer crashed with all the bookmarks I had for speakers I had researched so now the search continues all over. I had bought a Yamaha 1400 to upgrade my Yamaha 795a. I am putting the 795a in the bedroom which is about 12x13. I am looking for a set of 5.1 speakers in the $500 - $700 range. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Just so you know, you can't get anything special for that budget, especially if you're shopping for the whole 5.1 package. I mean, people will spend just that much on a subwoofer. But I'll tell ya, I put together a Polk Audio package with a similar budget (minus the sub) that I'm happy with until the time comes when i can invest more serious money in speakers. You should also be able to find Energy and Infinity speakers in that budget range, but as always try to audition as many speakers in your budget range as possible.

    Happy hunting.

The ones i speaking of are toward the bottom and called BR-1 at $136.00 a pair. Thats $272 for 4 of them, and they will probably sell you 1 for around $50. Thats approximately $375 including shipping. I would then look for one of those $100 Bic subwoofers and you will be set.

HSU Ventriloquist/VTF-2 combo for roughly $660 delivered. JBL NSP1 can be had for $150 plus shipping and you could add an Adire Audio Rava or HSU VTF-2 to it.
