    B&W 601 speaker vibrating heavily

Hi guys, I've had a pair of B&W 601s (I think they're series 1) for over ten years now, with no problems. However, in the past few weeks one of them has been playing up - when volume goes over a certain level, the speaker cone vibrates hugely, to the point where it affects the music.

The only solution is to turn the volume down to a level where it can't be clearly heard, and that's no good. I'm not blasting it loud either, it's at a normal volume where you can talk to someone else in the same room!

I've taken a video of what's happening, I'd love it if there was a handy explanation, and I figure you guys will know what's happening! I assume it can't be good for the speaker to be rattling so hard.

Have you tried opening the cabinet to check if there's anything loose?

I haven't mate - I'm reluctant enough to go digging in it, but I guess that's the first logical step!
