    depends,
normally, us people buy audio gear (and possibly other expensive gear) by testing it, in this case hearing it, checking stuff out and so...

winning a EISA award doesn't make you like them you know...

anyways, don't understand me wrong, the CM1 is quite a good speaker, but there are better ones out there,
I don't know your exact budget, but since the CM1's are about $800/pair, I'll stick around that for now...

also check out the Totem rainmaker,
or a dynaudio, or monitor audio GS10, or the RS1
    or others,
just remember, winning an EISA award doesn't make them somekind of superspeakers...
and before you buy stuff, go hear it...

    Greetings,
    Bert.

I am sure on this site most people will steer you in the direction of the B&W despite them not hearing anything else competition worthy. These people are B&W nazis.

kef came over a little harsh when I first heard them, but I didn't hear them that long,

also try focal, they have a softer sound, but totem is the best mentioned I think...

    Keep them spinning,

As others have said: Don't Buy Speakers/Electronics because they won awards...

I used to own an Award wining/critically acclaimed setup:

Mission Volare 63 Speakers (Best LoudSpeaker EISA Award 2003/2004)
    NAD C352 Integrated Amplifier
    NAD C521Bee CD Player

And frankly the combination was "technically sound" but BORING.... It didn't really get my feet tapping and really pull me into the music... Now all the Components were critically acclaimed/award wining... but for my ears, they lacked Synergy...

So my advice is to listen to the CM1s (preferably with a setup similar to your own) and then detemine if you want to buy them...

Also, Just because a speaker is the latest EISA Award winner doesn't mean it's better than last year's winner.... For my money... I think the Mission V63s are a much better sounding speaker than the CM1s.... (Especially since I find that I suffer from serious listening fatigue with the CM1s (my friend owns a pair of CM1s so i've had numerous listening sessions with them)).

    depending on your taste:
Or the Totem, or the Monitor audio...

the B&W 700 series is really bright sounding, so that's out for me, the cm1 could also be one of my choice, although the totem and Monitor audio are better...

is there a hifi shop in your near surroundings that has one of them, and if possible both?
    go check them out...

both will be a big difference from your IQ3's
but really, go audition them (if possible)
and don't let the dealer speak you into something way too expensive...

    Good luck,
    Bert.

Totem and Monitor is in same store
    B&W is different

    Totem is about 1260 usd
Monitor is GS10 is out stock but Gold 10 960 GBP
    and B&W 750 is 1800 usd

already using B&W 602 S3(for me great speaker)in a different room so to me buying another B&W product is non-sense

yes, their 600 series is much softer, and the 800 series is the best of them, they are also the most warm sounding of the b&w line, but their 700 series is really bright...

    go check them out,
    let us know...

if you can't hear a real difference (you will, trust me, you will) buy on what suits you the most on looks...

if you curious about prices, just go to a manufacturers website and look under their contacts and whip them off an email, in general they are really good about getting back to you in a few days.

    this is the gs 10,

    http://www.monitoraudio.co.uk/produc...ge=1&product=1

price isn't everything, you can buy $$$ speakers, and don't like them because they are too bright, or to neutral, or too warm, or they don't have enough/ have too much bass/treble/mids ...

    tell me your choice
Of those Speakers.... in order of preference I'd go for the Monitor Audio GS10 (IMHO the best bookshelf speakers I've heard).... then the Totem Rainmaker (didn't impress me much but it doesn't hurt my ears).... the CM1 (sound really good but hurts my ears after 20 - 30 minutes) and unless I got them for free I wouldn't touch the 705 (Painful to listen to for a long period of time).... But, once again, you have to listen and come to your own conclusions.....

I would highly suggest waiting for the GS10 to be back in stock, since you already have a pair of speakers... Why rush and potentially miss out on a better speaker?

no, GS10 and Gold 10 are the same, 'GS' stands for 'Gold Series'

the 'Gold' you see is the name of the series, so actually, the full name is Monitor Audio Gold GS10.

gold 10 is just a way of saying it shorter...

IMHO, i'd also get the monitor audio,
