    Is it true that elevating my subwoofer 1/2 an inch from the floor/carpet, it will sound much better?

    it is down firing but also with a pasive front firing driver

    If it's down firing then I would hope you have it at least about 4" off the floor.

    I am at a loss why it would come without such legs already :) if it downfires.
