    4 subwoofers to choose from...

Out of these four subwoofers, which one would you choose:

    1) Velodyne DPS-10

    2) Velodyne VRP-1200

    3) Polk Audio PSW404

    4) Athena P400

What is your price range? I think any of the entry level SVS and HSU will blown these away in performance.

Well, let me say this....it is for my parents. They used to have the JBL PSWD110 which had known problems with under rated capacitors in the amplifier which would eventually blow up. Suprisingly, they got about 6 years of use out of it. Any ways, they don't need anything amazing which is why I listed the models I did. As far as store bought subs, I favor Athena just because they really are an amazing sounding sub for the money....I would say they are the best retail sub. When I bought that sub it was selling for about $500, but now that it is an old model I have come across them cheaper so it is one of my choices for them. As far as budget goes, I want to keep it under $330 out the door. All the models I listed can be had for $330 or less (from ebay, online retailers, etc). With that in mind, which one do you recommend?

you can also look at the definitive technology PS100 subwoofer- lists for $449, but many dealers will go down to about $330. just a thought.
