We keep a small maglite in the bedside table for power outages. We also bought a 4-D cell powered camplight (Its 2 small flouresent bulbs) for longer outages. When we had a tornado rip through 3 years ago, and an ice storm last year we were without power for 4-5 days.
We also got a generator after the tornado, but it has to be no power for a few hours before I get that beast out.

I have a few cheapy what ever is on sale flashlights around the house for power outages but I also have 5 or 6 maglites ranging from a small penlight to the large 18 inch torches. They can withstand just about any abuse and also serve as a decent weapon. I use my small ones for hiking and photography. Keep one in each vehicle as well.

Well, I only really maintain one flashlight these days; it's the one that came with my Makitta drill kit with a rechargeable battery (Frickin' batteries cost $70 bucks! :incazzato:), but I also have a couple of mini-mag lights laying around. In MY bedside table I keep a 9mm. I figure the muzzle flash will brighten up the room enough for the short time I'll need light. :yesnod:

I think that just by virtue of the fact that sticks got to the top with fewer posts than many others in the top ten, and less than half that of GM, his #1 position should be cemented there for a long time to come, don't you think? :biggrin5:
