    Y splitter

    so, i got my digital cable box, it has a coax jack for the digital sound having only 1 coax on the back of my receiver i was pissed because the DVD player is already using it but with the Y splitter i am able to basically have two coax jacks on my receiver for digital sound now! Try it i was amazed it worked

    Bad idea.

    "Y" splitter should only be used for audio. They are not intended to be used with video or digital outputs since all of them have 75 ohm impedance, and that impedance should be maintained throuout the chain. So only one connection per output.

    You could use a video switch box, or convert digital output to optical by using an adaptor
