Speakers make a pop sound during playback

I own a craptacular Samsung HT-DS610. Yes im a newbie. All was well for awhile, but recently the speakers make a POP sound when I hit PLAY on my DVD...and sometime during actual playback ( although only from time to time ). My sub makes the noise too, even more often then the other four speakers.

What is the cause of this? How can I get rid of this.

It sounds like this may actually come from your dvd player or your amp. You may be getting a small burst of power as the dvd is loading up to play. You may want to try another cd player or even a tape player to see if you get the same pop. If not it's probably your DVD, if you do get the pop again then it's your amp. It's probably not harmful to the speakers just more annoying than anything. It may be harmful only if it's loud or you have the volume way up when you get the pop.
