Question Dolby FM, How to tell when to use?

My Sansui 9090dp has a Dolby NR function switch. How do I tell when Dolby is being used by the FM station and does the type of Dolby matter?

Sorry Charlie(no tuna pun intended) but no radio station that I know of uses Dolby NR anymore. Dolby FM noise reduction processing has long been abandoned by Dolby because noise levels(while still pretty high) are not as much a problem anymore. Better studio processing, better transmitters have made this technology obsolete.
