How do I get 2 channel stereo from 6 surround system speakers?

From what I understand Denon has a built in mode that does this automatically....dts Neo:6 Stereo to Surround decoding...or something like that.

I have a Sony 333ES that is giving out and now I'm looking at the Denon receviers. Are there a lot of receivers that will send out a stereo signal to all 6 speakers...or is Denon rare in that regard?

    Thanks

No, a lot of them do it. There are many different "surround" processing types from DPL II to DTS Neo 6 to 5, 6, or 7 channel stereo. If I remember right, Yammie has there own proprietary surround or dsp mode that you can use also. Don't worry, most modern receivers have a plethora of choices.

My Onkyo does this also. Most receivers made these days should have it.

Denon does have 5 & 6 channel stereo as an option.

It does fill the room with sound. Great for parties. I would assume others do too, but don't simply assume they do. Check 'em out. FWIW, I love my Denon 2802.

Yeah, like everyone say this feature is no longer unique. FWIW I very seldom ever use either the DPL2 music mode or the 5 channel stereo mode and certainly wouldn't recomend anyone use this feature as a selling point to pick one brand over another. There are some real substantive differences such as remotes, number and type of inputs and in my opinion, sound quality of 2 channel playback.

Can I do this w/ my Sony 333ES

It sounds like many receivers can do what I'm looking to do. Is it possible for my Sony 333ES to send stereo music (2 channel) to all speakers?

The entry level Yamaha rxv450 offers the 6 channel stereo feature. I use it when I'm moving around the house working on stuff. Would also be perfect for entertaining.
