First Acoustic Research is no longer a company, I believe Audiovox bought them out. They look like a clone of a speaker, except they're called Advent. They sell for a similar price, and look pretty much exactly the same. You get what you pay for. Just because they're big certainly doesn't mean they sound nice. They don't look terrible if you're going for an under $500 H/T, they would certainly be better than any HTIB system.
