Sirius Satellite Radio Problem

I have one of these installed in a retail store.Everyday at around 1:30 to 2:30 I lose reception..This changed with the time.It use to be 2:30 to 3:30...Any Ideas,

You problem is likely due to a 2.4gHz signal which is interfering with your satellite radio signal. This could be cordless phone, cell phone, or some wireless network and it is likely nearby, perhaps even in your store.

Your possible solutions are to change the frequency of reception of the Sirius system (I think there are two to chose from) or to figure out what is transmitting a 2.4gHz signal every day at the same time.

Let me know if any of this works.

It just might be that sun spot cycles is interfering with your reception (it will only occur in day time when sun is high in the sky and Sun spot cycle is highly active). It eventually will fade away as position of the sun change seasonally.

Smokey I thought about somthing like this but it changed 1 hour when time changed...My wife is going to try to find the manual and I will see if I can change the frequency of reception..Thanks for the help..

I remember couple of years ago when Sun Spot cycle was kicking into high gear, my satellite provider send notices to all customers saying that we might lose reception temporary around in the afternoon time. And I though this might be your problem also.

But if problem keep continuing, as Mike said, you may have interference.

The cause of the problem could also be Ionospheric storms in the atmosphere.

I would think that if sun spot activity was the cause then other 2.4gHz equipment like cordless phones would also be affected.

BTW, twice a year the sun goes directly behind the satellite sending my digital sat TV signal and the signal is lost for a few minutes. Perhaps this is what you are referring to although it has nothing to do with sun spot activity.

And further, I do not think sun spots are active one hour per day, every day.
