    Acoustic Research S40 - HELP!

    Hey all,

I have a pair of AR S40 tower speakers, from the Stature Series of the mid 2000's. I think this was AR's last hoorah before basically going under. They are 3-way towers with 2 6 1/2" woofers and a silk dome tweeter.

The speakers sound incredible. I have compared them side by side with Infinity's, JBLs, Polk's and some others twice the price and the AR's sound so much more natural and can be listened to all day with no fatigue.

My problem is that the foam surrounds on the woofers have started to tear and come apart. They now make popping noises when played. I can't find replacement parts ANYHERE. I can't even find a used pair of S40's for sale anywhere.

Does anyone know where I might be able to buy parts for these things? Any help would be great. Thanks!
