Lg 55la6200 tv?

Does anyone have an LG 55LA6200 TV? I am looking at buying one for a second TV. I have compared it to the Samsung 55UF6400 and prefer the picture of the LG. Any recommedations?

I am also considering this Samsung PN51F8500 Plasma based on this and other reviews-

My friend just got Samsung PN51F8500 and it's really frustrating he. He select "standard" picture and its bright for about 10 seconds then the picture darkens up. Why in the blue hell will it not stay on that setting and stay bright. When he pay over $3500 for a damn tv I'd expect it to work righ.

With the Samsung TVs there is another setting for auto brightness to compensate for room conditions. I suggest turning that function off and see if the other settings stick.

This TV along with the Pansonic VT series TV's give excellent pictures on par with the Pioneer Kuro's and possibly better than the OLED TV's coming out.

Plasma TV's have made a come back and the best such as the new Samsung models can compete with LCD TV's in bright ambient light settings.

Go for the Samsung plasma. While LCD's can look quite good, they cannot touch the best of plasma at any price. It is the technology itself, not the price of the panel. Plasma's do a better job at making film look like film, and video look like video.

I am leaning to the Samsung plasma. I am torn a little bit because I would like to bump up to a 55" or 60". The Samsung comes in a 51 and a 60. The 60 is too much money. I was looking at last years Panny tc-pn50VT50 which is 55" and was the top plasma last year. The price is the same as the Samsung and the picture quality just about on par but it is not as good in bright ambient light viewing. I may wait till labor day to see if the price drops on the 60" Samsung or it they come out with a 55" version. Best Buy does not carry the 51" version any more because no one was buying it as people want 55" or higher when spending that kind of money.

The optical illusion created by the seemingly seemless metal stand is super. The voice recognition feature works well enough to use everyday. This is the only TV in Samsung's lineup with the Super Contrast Panel. 3D looks spectacular on it.

The problem with the Samsung is the size. I still would like a 55". I am also considering the LG 55LA7400 the LG 55LM8600 and the Samsung UN55F7100

I compared it to the LG 55LA7400 which is similarly priced. The picture on the SS is slightly sharper and brighter and there are a few features that it has like the fact that I can wirelessly connect to a Direct TV Genie and that the TV's processing can be upgraded with a new module when it becomes available.

The sound on the SS sucks compared to the LG but both would still need a sound bar or HT for decent sound.

You mentioned leaning to the Samsung plasma at one point: did you mention the reason for your change of heart? The new LEDs are impressive, obviously.

I got a Panasonic plasma almost 3 years ago and it's great; today I wish I had a 55" but they were a lot more expensive and the bottom line is I'm not sorry I saved the money. The brightness and slimness of the LEDs is irrelevant where I've located in the Panasonic, but I'm expecting an old CRT to give up the ghost one day soon and will have to consider what will work in that location where the set gets used for longer periods and must compete in a brighter envirnment.

I would love to have a plasma but I have decided to put the TV in my family room where we have an 8 foot window facing the TV area and 2 more 4 foot windows. The room would be too bright unless I were to go with the new 8500 series Samsung Plasma. The new SS's come in a 51", 60" and larger. I want to move up to a 55" and the 60" is out of my price range. I was initially going to put the new TV in my bedroom, that's why I was considering the plasma. I am going to move my 9yr old Sony XBR4 there instead.

I just picked up my Samsung UN55F7100 3D Smart TV. The picture is phenomenal. I have calibrated it using the settings from LCDTVbuyingguide.com (there were a few typo errors on their posted settings) and the picture is spectacular. It is much better than my Sony XBR4 52". I could not tell the difference between the picture on this TV and the UN55F8000 which is the top of the line and top rated LCD TV along with the Sony 900a. The smart function is great. My only complaint is that the screen has a bit more glare and reflection compared to the Sony XBR4. I will have to see how the TV does on the day time. My wife is already complaining about the reflections. If it is a problem then I will have to exchange it for the Sony 802a which does not have as good a picture or the LG LA557400 which again has a lesser picture.
