This is a DVD player/recorder from 2001. One review I read says that this unit has a Panasonic computer DVD read/write drive in it and visual inspection appears to support this information. Does this mean that if the drive burned out that it might be able to be replaced with an off-the-shelf computer DVD drive with similar specifications? Is this a realistic idea? Does the age of the unit make such an R&R repair unlikely? Thank you!
