Lubing my direct drive Technics SL-1300?

I never have and it works flawlessly but the manual says to. Can I use the very thin mineral oil which came with my Oster hair clipper? Dang if I want to spend a bunch for exotic oil I'll never use again. What say yall?

There is a good wise crack I could make about lube and direct drive but I'll be good!

I would not use mineral oil unless it is light mineral oil.

Try some gun oil with teflon or a light machine oil. You will want to use a light weight oil.

I think I've got some light weight sewing machine oil around here somewhere.

That should work. A heavy oil may gunk things up.
