Feeling quite happy with the table about now...

I think I've done about all I can do to make sure the table is as mint as can be. Found a battered, old, nice wooden plinth to replace the plastic one I had been using. Installed a wooden piece to close up the bottom and sunk some spikes into that. Applied a layer of sound damping sheets to the entire inside, refinished with some tung oil finish stuff (no, not real tung oil, that Formby's stuff). Not entirely sure I won't go back and put another couple layers of finish on it, but I may just leave it as is, don't really want it to be shiny. Installed a fresh new idler wheel, tightened up a few screws and cleaned all the electrical contacts as well as the idler and pulley and platter as it was getting a bit of noise from everything not being quite as lined up as it all needs to be to run quiet, but it had already been freshly lubed and a couple turns of a few loose screws underneath fixed things right up. Took a bit of time and made sure the new Denon DL 110 cart is all lined up best as can be. Sitting on a quickie isolation shelf that seems to get rid of any footfall issues at least in my place. Might someday rig up something a bit prettier using the same concept as it does seem to work well. Spinning some Barn Owl as I type...

Looks really sweet. I am envious. The plinth is a great addition and I know all your hard work has paid
off. Excellent looking table! I put my 110 on after your previous thread and I think it is a hands down classic cart. I have had really good results with both MM and MC settings. You must be getting some smooth rich tones from that cart and platter combo!

    Awesome job!
