I like the EAT's idea of getting two belts on the platter; probably helps power through heavy passages.

Do you think one spindle controls 45 and the other 33? Would their be some additional sync issues if both motors are active, instead of one passive and the other active. Passive in that it adds a small level of additional torque and guide stability.

The motor unit would contain two relatively weak motors. The AC power fed to them would be changed in frequency to control the speed.

Do you see the resemblance in the Pro-Ject, EAT and MH tables? I have always knew MH borrowed from Pro-Ject, but now we know that MH, EAT, and Pro-Ject have been sharing designs and idea's for some time now. I would love to get my hands on one of those EAT tables.

I wonder if under that cover on the Pro-Ject we'd see a motor hanging on a rubber ring?

I'm not referring to it as a problem. I just wonder how high up the ladder Pro-Ject goes with that methodology.

From looking at the Xtention, the new table which I have discovered is called the Pro-Ject Signature, and the RMP 9 and RMP 10, the motor is different from the tables that had the hanging motors. The Pro-Ject site says that the new arm on the Signature is a genuine Pro-Ject design.

I think it's the tonearms that make Pro-Ject. It wouldn't seem at first glance to make sense for Pro-Ject to outsource the arm or market a table with another manufacturer's arm.

This is the EAT Flat Table. Does it sorta look like a Pro-Ject design? But it has two motors. The two motors do not run in parallel, but act like a virtual 24-pole motor. The belt encircles an inner sub-platter, which is fitted with inside bearing made out of bronze bushings. The main platter rests on an inverted bearing and a ceramic ball, with a Teflon lining on the underside of the main platter.



And Music Hall is importing that table for $7k.

That's a really clever design. I've never seen anything like it. But look at the similarity of those motors to the Pro-Ject motor I put in my Music Hall MMF-5.

Yeah...they are about the same. And look at the arm on the flat table...I would almost bet Pro-Ject made it for EAT. ITs carbon fiber.

Im now starting wonder who made the arm on the EAT Forte S Table. I wonder if Pro-ject had a hand in it?
