4 or 8 ohm connection?

I ordered a Yaqin MS-20l tube amp that is being delivered Wednesday.

It has speaker outs for 4 and 8 ohms.

Which should I use for 6 ohm Klipsch KG4's?

Try both. It won't hurt the amp or the speakers. One set may sound better.

When I had my amps converted to mono I had a choice of 4 or 8 ohm, when they asked me which I wanted for outputs I explained I had 6 ohm speakers, they advised going with the 4 ohm output. This could vary from amp to amp but it's the only experience with 4 & 8 ohm taps on tube amps I can share

I did, they said to use the 8 ohm but I have seen opinions both ways. So I thought I would see what you guys think. Either way I doubt it would damage anything. I probably will try it both ways.

Go with 8 ohm impedance setting since most amps will reduce speaker's output voltage rail (lower current) at 4 ohms setting to protect the amp from lower impedance.

This doesn't apply with tube amps. Tube amps are transformer coupled unless it's an OTL.

The only SS amps I've heard of that do voltage limiting are inside receivers.

either Tap is fine mate; it's a matter of preference to your listening tastes. overall the amp will drive your klipsh speakers well enough to achieve good playback levels - the key is to listen to a smooth relaxed presentation avoiding any harshness in the sound & specially transients. all of which should give you a nice well balanced presentation.

you should not have too much lows, mids or highs - these should be well balanced if your amp to speaker is a good match! if this is not, then you have a major mis-match problem. either the amp cannot drive the speakers, or the amp is just not up to the mark. considering it a tube amp, I don't think you should have a problem as long as it is a good design and well executed from front to back with good stable power supplies.

Klipsch speakers also sound better on tube amps if they are matched well; otherwise they can sound glaring... experiment on both taps and see which one is to YOUR musical liking!

The Klipsch Kg4 used to have 4ohm on their labels until they went international and were relabeled 6ohm. At one time I had a pair of both in one system. I didn't expect or notice any difference in the sound quality, or loudness.
