    I remember our local radio station having a call-in vote for the most popular rock song each summer. Year after year, Stairway To Heaven always won. For that reason, I will leave it off my list even though I do enjoy it.

    The only LZ I'll listen to is Dread Zeppelin versions.

    As with most of the other bands you've posted about, radio has killed them for me.

    Nothing wrong with referring to an 8-track, as long as it's a reference to 30 years ago. But given that time frame, it's probably a safe bet that Mr. Rae has never listened to an 8-track.

    Ha! We have an 8-track player at work, actually, in the kitchen. And I've thrifted some surprisingly decent 8-tracks, so that I can listen to Hugh Masekala or Spade Cooley or Black Sabbath while I make emergency spaghetti. No Physical Graffiti, tho.

    Posting in this thread led me to read the Spade Cooley Wikipedia page and discover that he was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1961 for brutally murdering his wife after she had a purported affair with Roy Rogers. He was given a 72-hour furlough to play a concert for the Deputy Sheriffs' Association of Alameda County in 1969 and died of a heart attack backstage right after playing the show. Crazy.

    Like others I'm pretty burnt out on Zep & have been for 25 years. But...can't deny The Rain Song, We're Gonna Groove, The Crunge, and Hey Hey What Can I Do.

    Most of the rest sounded real good, a long time ago. Not lately, though.
