    Me too, especially speakers. The best bang for the buck IMO.

    i think the best bang for the buck is found in vintage gear. that said, i recently moved to a 5.1 system and went all digital with relatively modern gear. my speakers are still vintage though.

    AR MGC-1, AR C225 PS, M&K V-1B, Pioneer VSX 47TX, Oppo BDP-83, Squeezebox v3, Vortexbox Appliance.

    Dude!!

    What are those two large ass speakers closest to the TV, they look like
    they kick some serious ass!!

    I've wanted to build speakers similar to those with only three drivers.

    Awesome!

    There is a thread "New Finds" that a forum regular Dakadatbg or somethings always posts vintage stuff to which is where most of the vintage posts are. I, myself, am addicted to vintage Luxman gear.

    these are all Acoustic Research speakers. on the outside are the AR9, in the middle the AR91, and in between the AR MGC-1. i took the pic just before parting with the AR9's as the MGC-1's made them unnecessary. here's how the MGC-1's are pulling duty;

    5.1 HT with 1 pair of speakers.
