    Cool End Of An Era

    At least around this neighborhood.
I REMEMBER paying fifty bucks for a membership at Star video. Now the only video
stores left is one BLOCKBUSTER and a porn palace.
Now its just the porn palace. Saw on the news that two companies have ganged up to
buy BLOCKBUSTERS physical plant, DVD's, store supplies, etc. Stick a fork in
    them, they are done.
END OF AN ERA. Started with BETA and VHS, ended with DVD.
The first video I rented was "ELECTRIC HORSEMAN" for ten bucks(all they had) from the
guys who sold me a RCA VHS with a wired remote for 825 bucks on closeout.
Now I rent two or three for a buck to a buck fifty apiece at REDBOX.

I've heard few positive comments about blockbuster. Probably it gets better after this.

Heck I still remember renting the video disks back in the early 80's that you had to flip half way through the movie, they sucked all the way with video and audio but there was something about going to the video store that is missed with netflix and the like.

If you're talking about LASER, consider yourself lucky. ALL we had were VHS right
up until DVD came out, and then for purchase only. I used to have to drive fifty miles
    to purchase overpriced laser.
