    Question about a turntable

I am looking at a Marantz 6200 in great working and cosmetic condition with the cover!

Anyone has had any experience or is it a good one?

How much do you think it is worth? It has on it RMC M44MR Cartridge

I used to have one several years ago. It never played at satisfying speeds so I can't really comment on the sound. The build quality looked shady at best. The platter felt like it weighed no more than a pound, and not much more for the entire turntable.

BUT, if it's in a great condition then I wouldn't mind having one at all. Even with cheap veneer, I think it looks gorgeous and just love the Marantz logo on its platter. I wouldn't think it'll ever be my primary TT, but I would love to have a minty one sitting on my rack.

How much is it going for?

It is on ebay but I saw it is a store here in chicago so I can pick it up and not pay for shipping! So far it is 60 bucks!

That one looks great. It's certainly alot better than the one I had. It even comes with a Marantz headshell. The other guy wants $275 for it, now that's crazy.

I think they are usually sold for between $8~$120.
I paid $8 for mine then spent $12 on a new belt.

    Best wishes,
    JRA

I think to determine the value you have to consider we're in a bit of a hot time for the vinyl fad. Right now, a decent 6200 ought to be worth over $100. I once paid something like $40 shipped for a 6100 on eBay but those days are gone for a while.

If you look up a Marantz model here it shows eBay listings at the bottom of the page...

    Correction:

I used to have the 6100, not 6200.
    I paid $3 instead of $8.
