Axiom M3v3 bookshelf speakers and VTI stands

Dang today was a long day. Wife and I were in the car by 9am and got home about 930pm. Started off with a trip to the court house about some paper work ( two shotguns full of fun that was ) and then off to the City of Industry (seriously that is what it is named) to pick up my first set of sub $1000 bookshelf speakers for my series or reviews, the Axiom M3v3. I had to pick them up because, unlike UPS, the FedEx delivery person can't find my new place. We printed out a map though, with a lot of writing on it, (I knew one day all those D&D maps I drew as a pre-teen would come in handy) and left it with them. Hopefully they'll find the house next time.

So, after that, since mlsstl had suggested VTI speaker stands, and I noticed they were also located in the City of Industry, wifie and I drove over there and met the owners/designers and had a good talk. I've now their VSP stands. Purchased, but I will be reviewing them in greater detail later.

As for now, I've got some photos of everything. This is the current set up. I've got the Electrocompaniet gear as source and amp and using the smaller gauge solid copper core speaker wire from PC for the M3v3 speakers.

Ok - enough talk - here are the photos. More information like stand weight, quality, and stuff - to follow in full length reviews at reviews.audioreview.com - as well there will be a full length review of the Axiom M3v3... but so far - they sound pretty good right out of box.

I don't mean to be picky but looking at the dust caps on the woofers on the axiom speakers you are reviewing aren't they the V3 versions and not the 2'S, Just an observation.

Nice looking cat. It looks like her/his face was dipped in milk. Very cute.

Let me know when the review is posted. I'm interested in reading it. Although, I'm sure that some of it will be over my head...at least I'll know where to go for clarification.

I've been told that I don't write 'non arrogant and down to earth' reviews - so I hope none of it is 'over your head'.

Looking forward to the review... Ironically, I was looking at those exact speakers on the Axiom website this morning...

FWIW; I reviewed a set of Axiom speakers a while back for AR.

    http://www.audioreview.com/AXIOMSURROUNDcrx.aspx

The skinny is they are excellent performers!

Looks like the engineers at Axiom have been hard at work improving things too.

I wouldn't mind getting to hear the new EP800 sub they have, in addition to the new M80v3.
    Audio;
    Ming Da MC34-AB 75wpc
PS Audio Classic 250. 500wpc into 4 ohms.
    PS Audio 4.5 preamp,
Marantz 6170 TT Shure M97e cart.
Arcam Alpha 9 CD.- 24 bit dCS Ring DAC.
    Magnepan 3.6r speakers Oak/black,

I think I would be interested in this review because my main system is in a room by itself in my new home so I have a living room with no audio and would not mind putting a pair of small bookshelf speakers in there for music while company was over or while in the other rooms of the house without cranking my main system and these seemed to be priced more realistically priced for this than Dynaudio which has nothing that is budget minded like this.

Dude right on! Everything looks great. It reminds me of JMs set up, minimal yet complete. Very clean and modern. Must sound great, oh ya of course it does you have the solid core cabling.
