    The "Pay it Forward" Thread

Tarheel had a resurrected thread down in the HT section about a lot of sound for a leetle beet of money. I responded about paying forward som obsolete HT gear for a friends HT system. My friend just left his long-time and is startin' from scratch. Tarheel mentioned that he'd done the same thing several times with relatives. Sooooo I'm starting this thread where folks can list the gear they've donated over the years.

    Receivers
    Onkyo 787

Most recently, I donated a powered Eosone subwoofer to my wife's parents. They moved into a house that already was wired for surround sound and had speakers mounted on the walls. While I didn't have a spare AVR (I've only owned one!), I bought a Panasonic unit and gave that to them to provide a real HT system.

Can't remember the model numbers but off the top of my head

    2 TV's
    Several VCR's
    1 Technics Receiver
    1 Technics TT
    1 Teac 3-head tape player
    Pioneer Project 80 speakers
    2 DBX subwoofers
    Pioneer Reverb amp
    Teac Graphic Equalizer
    BSR Sound Enhancer

To a friend of my son whose family has fallen on hard times

    Pioneer Amp/Tuner and Nova speakers

Not really donations but prior to X-mas sold several pieces below my cost to people who were looking for presents. When I got a feeling for their situation I would bundle a reciever and pair of speaker and charge $20 for everything.

Have given several receivers and speakers to friends or co-workers who were asking about stereo equipment.

I have been on the receiving end of several good deals over the last couple of years and I figure what goes round comes round.
