    Onkyo Tx 8555

    Hello,

I bought Onkyo TX 8555 receiver along with Bose 301 series speakers. Whenever I play my CD's through Sony CD/ Dvd player the reults are excellent but the sound quality is awful when I use my ipod through Belkin dock.
    Any suggestions please ?

Secondly, I am looking to buy subwoofer for this unit. I would welcome any recommendations .

I am bit of a naive in this area so please feel free to elaborate !

Your sound quality is bad from your Ipod because its mp3 and not up to the same resolution of a CD. mp3 sucks! You will get better sound if you use loss less recordings otherwise your stuck. Skip the sub and get new speakers, you will be better off in the long run.
    Here's a great deal- http://www.audioadvisor.com/prodinfo.asp?number=ENC300

These will blow the Blose 301's away, give you much better sound, detail, resolution and good bass with out needing a sub. It will allow you to take advantage of that Onkyo 2ch receiver which is a decent budget receiver.
A decent sub will run about $350-500.

    Here's a good deal on a sub- http://www.audioadvisor.com/prodinfo...umber=ADPROSUP

This Energy Sub is a good sub for a budget- http://www.vanns.com/shop/servlet/it.../energy-eswc10
