    KLH Speakers and Subwoofer

I got KLH Model 9 Nine surround speakers and I want to know how much they are worth? They look so cool and I couldn't find much about them online! I have the powered subwoofer "Bassbite V" with them so do you guys know the price and if they are good?

dak, I have a KLH powered sub too! I will photograph mine when I get home. It's pretty awesome with tons of input/output options. It also has 4 blue lights on each bottom corner and lights up real sweet.

I got those for free! I went to buy speakers from a guy who was moving and he gave me 4 pairs of floor speakers, one sony system, the klh subwoofer and surround speakers with a stereo rack cabinet for 30 bucks! I got a great deal and those look great! So are the good and how much are they worth?

I can't really say. I got my sub from Rat Shack. It was a floor model so they sold it to me for $150. I think mine is a bit fancier than yours. Like I said, I'm at work right now, I'll post some pics so you can see. I bought it for my H/T system. I can't imagine those would fetch you too much cash. Why not try hooking them up for yourself? My sub sounds amazing, it's value to me is higher than what I would get if I sold it, that's for sure.

I mean everything home is kenwood and I have the kenwood surround speakers and sub so I have no need of them! They sound as good as the kenwoods so I prefer to keep mine!

Ya, I posted a while back regarding my H/T. I got inspired to upgrade all of my cables. Actually, the biggest return was with the sub, it totally came to life. The cable in the pic is an Acoustic Research Pro Series II, subwoofer cable w/ stereo splitter. It really does a great job, It has 125 watts, I can't imagine having more than that.

I am glad on your free find. But I will say that around 9 years ago Best Buy had a deal that if you bought a receiver that was 300 bucks or more you got a pair of these speakers free. A friend of mine bought a Pioneer AV receiver From BB and got these speakers free with his purchase. he used them as a second room speaker mounted high in the corners for fill in his extra room used for poker playing and what not and I think they lasted about 2 weeks before the woofers blew in them. I believe that Best Buy sold these speakers for around 30 to 40 bucks a pair so they are not worth much used and they do not handle very much power. they would possibly be ok for a low buck theater system if you made sure to use the subwoofers crossovers and set the center channel and rear speakers to the small setting since they can not handle dynamics in the bass department at all. I am not trying to down what you have or anything and the fact you got them free is even better but I also want to be realistic with you as well

Thanks Harley Guy, thats what I wanted to know. Not that I was going to use them because KLH is not a very good brand for me!

When I heard them I new that they were cheap. The tweeter in them is a plastic dome type that can be bought for pennies from speaker builder warehouses and the paper cone woofer is about at the same level. I would just get rid of them for what you can and call it a day. KLH was a descent brand 35 or so years ago but they started to go way down hill in the 80's and really went to hell now a days. Poppa seems to like his sub and I havent seen that model but a friend of mine has a realistic powered subwoofer and its ok for a cheap sub and I think its the same thing without the light show.

Once upon a time famed speaker designer Henry Kloss made the KLH line. Someone bought the name and the speakers have never been the same, built to a price point instead of a quality sound target.

I just got rid of them! I sold them on craigslist for $60! It took me 4 days and today was my lucky day!
