Infamous Sony Faulty Optical Block or????

Here's a shot of the 60" LCD (KDF-60WF655). Does this look like the typical "blue blob/haze" issue associate with the faulty optical block/light engines? This not glare fom lighting, etc. This is what the screen really looks like. This is the default dvd blank blue screen. The lighter areas are seen when watching dvd's or cable. Doesn't matter, they are always there. I've hasseled Sony but they are not inclined to do anything about it since the recall period has expired. I've ready where one customer filed a small claims suit and received $700.

What are my options here, can this issue be fixed? Permanently? Are the replacement optical blocs using glass lenses rather than plastic now?

For Sale: Denon DVD-2200 Player, AVR-1804 Receiver, Acoustic Research Cables.

looks like a blue blob to me - but i'm no tv expert - don't even own one of my own.

anyways - i did do an GIS and it looks like a lesser version of some of the photos out there.

    here is the link: http://images.google.com/images?gbv=...e+blob&spell=1

best of luck getting it replaced.
