I received some WMA lossless tunes from one of my fellow AR members. (Many Thanks!)

In the past the lossless format could not be used on Mac. This was not an issue with WMA lossy files (Microsofts version of an MP3); it was only with WMA lossless, (ie. the good stuff, similar to FLAC or Apple Lossless). Even today it's still not an obvious thing to figure out.

I thought I'd post this short how to for others who may have similar issues.

1) Get Switch
http://www.nch.com.au/switch/

2) Open Switch
3) Drag .wma files to Switch window.
4) Select one of the LOSSLESS Output Formats --> WAV or AIFF
5) Convert.

They can go straight into iTunes now. If you want to convert to Apple Lossless you can use MAX or iTunes to do this.

Also, if you just want to use Quicktime to listen to WMA lossless files you can install Flip4Mac (Microsoft).

All these options are free.
