    Inexpensive Bookshelf Speaker Advice

    Hi Folks,
I'm looking for a pair of inexpensive bookshelf speakers in the $200 range.
Right now I thinking about a pair of Infinity Beta 20's (new) or maybe a pair of
Mordaunt-Short MS912's (open box). Anyone know anything about the Mordaunt-Short MS912's? Nice looking speaker, but I could only find one review. Thanks!

Thank you, I agree, they are a nice speaker. I have the Paradigm Titians, and a pair of Wharfedales, I'm looking for something with a little different, yet pleasant sound.

    Me personally....

I'd go used. For 2 bills you could pick up some legendary stuff off the Bay or Craigslist. Every speaker in my house, save on center and one subwoofer, were gotten used.

    Thanks,
I'll check them out, (on line, I live in Rochester, not much choice for audio here)

Yeah, thanks, I've had pretty good luck buying used, refurb, or open box (knock on wood), I did see a pair of AV 123 Onix X-LS, on Craigslist, which I've added to the list.

I'd suggest that you go the used route. I've got a pair of Klipsch RB-5II's that I love. Got them for $125 off of Craigslist. Then I got a pair of B&W 602's (series 1) for $90 off of Craigslist. I sold them though--they were to boomy for me.

    Best Regards,
    Stan
