first gen T-amp re-released?

It looks like Dayton Audio has come out with a copy of the first generation Sonic Impact T-amp. I have one of the T-amps and it's proven to be a handy portable device. Unlike the Sonic Impact, Dayton's version comes with a power supply.

The Dayton is/will be carried by parts express, but it isn't available at present.

It's a bit pricey for what it is and for partsexpress, IMO.

Works great. Worst part is the TINY speaker cable pressure connectors. 12 gauge I think...

I don't use thick wire with mine. Actually, the speaker wire I use is either the thin Radio Shack wire or RCA wire from Wal-Mart. I can't remember which.

The T-amp has never disappointed when used outdoors. I've taken it to college football games for tailgating and used it in the backyard while grilling or hanging out on the deck. I didn't get it for the home system expecting it to be a "giant killer" but it beats any boombox for road trips and outdoor use. A pair of cheap high-efficiency speakers and a portable source and you're set.

I was actually wondering if there were going to be any more T-amps out there...I had a couple of T-Amps which I gave to each of my nephews and now I want to get three more for presents over the holidays.

I think it's a great product but only for a stationary use such as office or den maybe. Maybe a camping trip but on any level, I don't define portable as an armful of speakers and gear, however small they might be. If you're hooking up an MP3 or CD player I would suggest a good dock with a 3.5mm input, much less to get around. I mean who needs hi-fi when your getting sloshed with your mates?

I haven't actually heard it, but from what I've read it's a pretty solid piece of gear for $350, and with 30W per channel (45W @ 4 ohms) it is able to drive bigger, more serious speakers too.

Of all the t-amp variations that are out there....My preference for the orig T amp regen is 1) input for IPOD or MP3, and 2) Price. I am giving them away as presents to my niece who is is 2nd grade, and my nephew who is currently in kindergarten.

Favorably reviewed on http://www.tnt-audio.com/ is "KAMA BAY AMP" 2ch Amplifier,Price:$54.80 , http://www.scythe-usa.com/product/acc/034/sda100.

Also, http://www.obadimports.com/index.html, has discontinued the Trends as they report the Pop Pulse 2024 Tsunami Amplifier $139.00 to be a better product than the Trends.
