    anybody heard of Kanazawa speakers?

Kanazawa KS-55H 12inch woofers, Incredible bass/the highs are crisp and clear.
I swear I can hear vocalists breathe into the microphone.
I would use these in a recording studio. MAKE OFFER

I'll give you $1000 for one of them. They sound awesome the way you describe them

Not particularly easy to find any Kanazawa's. Old Japanese speakers from the 70's, I believe. Traditionally they were very heavy for their size (a good thing). The model that I'm familiar with was rather complicated, 3 or 4 way, with a horn in it.

Kanazawa was one of the first companies to make use of the weird planars also used in early VMPS speakers as midrange drivers. They were regarded as some of the better Japanese speakers of the early 70s, but then again, most Japanese speakers from the early 70s sucked. (Anyone with a Sansui AU reciever likely had it plugged into some Snells.)
