Sony ES Receiver - Volume Remote Control

I have a several years old Sony STR-DA333ES. Over the past year the remote master volume control only works about 25-30% of the time. Anybody else run into this problem and have been able to fix? thx.

    Cool

yOU MIGHT NEED A NEW REMOTE.
But first try this stuff they sell at radioshack, cleans the poteniometer
that the knob controls. My guess is someone got some liquid into it
and its shorting out, and it needs cleaning.
A TV repair shop will do it for you, shouldnt cost much

Deoxit. Good stuff. Don't use WD40, don't even think about it. Deoxit.

And don't be afraid to clean your remote. They get pretty grungy.

If all else fails, if your remote only works 20-30% of time, hold it 20-30% closer. It may actually work 20-30% faster.
