    Need help choosing 5.1 speakers

    Hi all,

I am planning to buy 5.1 speakers for my laptop/xbox360...mainly for my xbox360..

I am very confused as to which one should i buy from below mentioned speakers..

    Logitech Z-5500 THX-Certified 505-Watt 5.1 Digital Surround Sound Speaker System -- $250

    Logitech G51 5.1 Surround Sound Speakers ----$130

    Logitech X-540 5.1 Speaker System --$60

$250 is slightly on higher side but i dont mind spending if its value for money...

can any one please help me as to which one should i go for??

    Thanks...

Get the Logitech Z-5500, if you're deciding between those you listed. Look around online, as well, as you can sometimes find that set for even less. I've seen it online for $200 new, not refurbished. Besides being a much better speaker system overall over the others you listed, it has much more connectivity, making it useful as more than just a computer speaker system. In the long term, you'll be glad you spent the extra money for the better system.

Shouldn't this be posted under the Computer Audio Forum?

Yes it should. It's really not considered high end audio. PC and music reproduction just doesn't sit right with me. Maybe I'm old fashioned.

C'mon guys. Complaining about forum choice by a first-time poster is kind of a waste of time, and does nothing to resolve the original question. Maybe after providing some useful advice, you could kindly redirect future similar postings to the appropriate forum. I don't think this harmless posting will taint the sanctity of the Speakers forum. Heaven knows not everything discussed here pertains to truly "high end" stuff anyway, multimedia speakers aside.

I bought the G51 for my son and they are very good. I bought them at www.newegg.com for $129 with a $40 rebate. I hope your lap top has a good sound card otherwise the sound will just be ok.
