    drilling into speakers

Hi. I want to mount a pair of speakers on the wall as surround speakers. Is it ok to drill screw holes in the back without damaging the speakers?

    cheers

Often the crossover is mounted to the inside back wall of the speaker.

There are wall mounts that screw onto the bottom (or top) of the speaker, seems safer to me.

Or these for $69.00 - no holes.

Just Google search for speaker wall mounts, there are many kinds.

thanks Herman. A friend also suggested that the back of the speaker might not be strong enough to support the weight. Either way, clamped mounts seem the way to go.

As long as you don't use the tilt ability of these mounts, they will support a fairly heavy and large speaker without the need to put any holes in your speakers.
