More cable insanity - a $500 ethernet cable...

Denon's always been a pretty solid in my book. Well designed, well made, reasonable value and high performing. Until now. A five. Hundred. Dollar - ethernet cable!

Don't be a hater! Cables have the highest profit margins in high-end audio, so why shouldn't Denon capitalize on the stupidity (I mean enthusiasm) of consumers?

Aha! They're employing the Barnun Effect!

Actually, I don't think anyone can find fault with the description. Of course, that description fits a multitude of similar cables that sell for a much lower price.

But, I'll bet there are some that will spring for it simply based on it's looks, the gee-whiz description, Denon's name, and reputation. And, I'm sure they will be happy as a clam at high tide when irt performs exactly as described!

Yep. there's one born every minute. That's what keeps the marginal factions of this hobby (and others) in kibbles and bits.
