Question AMP for QUEST QB6 Speaker.

    Hi,

I'm new to this forum and posting my first thread.

I have spare Quest QB6 bookshelf speakers which i want to attach with regular pc. I'm sure that I need AMP for it. I don't need anything high end, it is just for day to day PC use.

Can anyone suggest what is the cheapest and best hardware to make it work?

    The speaker specification is below:-

    Video Shielding: Yes
    Tweeter: 1" Clarity Soft Dome
    Woofer: 6.5" Polypropylene Hybrid
    Crossover Point: 3.2kHz
    Frequency Response: 55Hz-20kHz
    Sensitivity: 87dB
    Nominal Impedance: 8 ohm
    Maximum Amplifier Power: 100 watts

    Thanks in advance,

    Parry

if they are 100 watts. then you dont need much more than a 30 watt amp. ass for low cost...you should try look in ebay and look for a reciever or integrated in this range. shouldnt cost too much. ive never dealt with ebay. so i cant tell you what to expect in that regards. if possible try stay away from anything that doesnt weigh much. unless you can get a class d amp. if you know what to look for in stereo equipment you can even find some in thrift shops. but it is not recommended for just any one, as most of the stuff that goes thru them are junk. very rarely does a gem of a piece go thru. look in craigslist as well. im sure other members can lead you in better directions than i could.

    any ways welcome to audioreview

    Thanks for reply budgetaudio.

I searched on ebay and craiglist, either you get very old stuff and new one is expensive on these websites. I think i will wait for some kind of sale at futureshop or bestbuy and grab some thing.

Anyhow, thanks for your suggestion and reply.
