Recommend: A/V Receivers w/ RF remotes

Can someone recommend a good A/V receiver with RF remotes and multizone. In the master bedroom I made all equipment and speakers disappear by moving all my equipment behind the wall in the closet and putting in wall / ceiling speakers.

I want to run surround on the master 5 speakers and a SUB. I also want to run the master bath off the receliver with a separate zone. I want both remotes RF remotes since equipment is on the closet. I am replacing a cheap all in one system with a new receiver. I am not finding many systems with RF remotes.

    Thanks in advance!

Radio Frequency as in go though walls instead of Infrared. My Satelite recieve is RF and it works behind the wall. Its annoying to have to go into the clost to adjust the volumn and turn receiver on. There has to be receivers with RF remotes.

How much are you looking to spend total?

You may have to buy a separate remote from Harmony or something to take care of your needs. Higher priced AVR's may come with RF remotes but a nice universal from Harmony or something similar may give you more flexibility and better control over the rest of your system.

You should be able to find plenty of units with 2/3 zones from Onkyo, Denon, Yamaha, Marantz, Elite. Take the time to research and check a few units out.

It does not appear the Harmony is an RF remote?? Will it operate though the wall? Does it have IR extenders?? I dont need high end as I only have 4 speakers, center and sub for surrond and two speakers in bath room. 5.1 AV receiver with a separate powered multiroom and RF remote. I have not had much luck finding the right one.

Check out the Harmony 890, it should do what you want. However a word to the wise, if you are putting gear in a closet make sure you have ventilation as some receivers run hot and could be damaged in a tight closet.

Yes, the link I provided to the Harmony 890 should take care of your needs.

Which AVR you get depends on your budget and your needs. Make sure to get something that has 5.1 multichannel inputs & 5.1 multichannels outputs. This will give you future flexibility. Units with 2 zone capabitilies start at around $400 or so. Here's a list of units that have 2 or 3 zone capabilities. You should be able to find most of these unts at a local store to take a closer look or to audition.

    Cool

I saw the harmony RF remote in a Sears salespaper for 129 bucks.
I used to have a pair of RCA cones, put one in front of your gear and the other in your viewing area, they were about 30 bucks.
Circuit city has these and other RF solutions, some expensive, some not.
Putting your gear in the next room is a great idea for having a clean looking install,

IIRC my H/K came with a separate remote for another room like you describe.

Check their site for the capability.
