    Outdoor Speakers 18 AWG

When my house was built I had speker wire run to the outside for outdoor speakers. Unfortunately the builder put in 18 AWG wiring. The run is approx. 30 feet. Should I even consider getting a nice pair of speakers? Is 18 guage too small to handle much for that distance?

    I'm running a Yamaha RX-V 2500
I'd like to match my indoor speakers and get a pair of Paradigm Stylus,
but wonder if it's worth the money with the 18 AWG.

    Any opinions would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

You can use 18 gauge wire up to 32 feet to a nominal 8 ohm speaker, here's a good site explaining wire lengths in detail:
