I have a fosgate punch power 800a2 amp I believe is a '98 or '99 model and two 4ohm dvc lanzar subs, what would be the best wiring option and will the amp drop down to 1ohm?? Your help is greatly appreciated.

in 1998, Fosgate moved their amplifier production to Malaysia, and quality took a drop...
(the power series may have still been manufactured in the states, but I am not sure)

I have seen the 1995 & 1996 model punch amps run at 2ohm mono (only rated to 4ohm mono), but they got very hot, and often required cooling to keep from cutting out...

Since your amp is a power series, it may be able to handle 2ohm mono, but if you try it, don't push it hard right away... do some testing and see if sound quality decreases, or heat increases too much...
