    I just realized...

How bad I want a double advent system...

I can't do it mono, but now it's like stereo-mono-ish,
    and it's great!
    and it's friggin huge!

There is a pair of advents on ebay that can be shipped to belgium, but I can't buy it because shipping costs are to high...

I'll guess i'll just have to wait...

    Rock on,
    Bert.

Why? There's a whole forum dedicated (or so it seems) to stacking components -- I completely do not understand the appeal. If you want a D'Appolito, get that design.

Advents have always been neutral musical reproducers. Stacking them (can't say about any other design) has a synergistic effect with the midrange response. Mutual coupling or something like that. It improves their image size and increases output typically by 6db when using a SS amp that produces more power at the lower impedance. Updating the crossover components and wiring improves the resolution.

If you recall, Harry Pearson of The Absolute Sound commented about them in the very first issue back in 1973. He heard my pair about a year ago and his regard for them hadn't changed. He would, however, like to hear them in a modern cabinet using flush driver mounting and beveled edges. I've put foam rings around the tweeters to minimize their cabinet diffraction.

First of all, thanks for the obviously informed response.

You're telling me, there's no positional comb-filtering or other artifacts?
