    DVD player cooks my disks

Disk coming out of my 4 year old Marantz DV4300 come out feeling very hot to the touch. A second player, a Panasonic does not do this - disks are just slightly warm after extended playing. Is that a fault with the Marantz, and is this likely to damage my disks?

It's certainly not a good sign. Can't possibly be good.

I don't think its a good sign either.

As a reference, the disk was just as warm as the amp, which had been on for about three hours playing music at moderate levels. I haven't dared use that player since. Considering cost of repairs these days, I'm inclined to consign it to the scrap heap.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?
