    Apogee In-wall speakers?

I stumbled across these and was curious. I'd never seen them or heard of them before.

I am curious if anyone knows any additional information about them.

If anyone here would know about any Apogee's Florian certainly would. I read the supplied data and noticed that they use elements from the Slant series. I have in the past heard the Slant 6 and didn't really like them.

The information is a bit inconclusive. The Slant Series was not exactly Apogees glory line, they were made for those who wanted a taste of that ribbon sound but could not afford the real Apogees and the electronics needed to run them. A great speaker from the hybrid line was the Centaur Major with its 5 trace ribbon. There is a Auriga S inwall Apogee at Audiogon that would sound stunning. Remeber that those ribbons are way bigger then in the Magnepan MG 20.1 and have more resolution and speed. Ribbons do love power tough ;-) These ribbons do not come from the Slant Series and have 3 traces like in the DIVA for instance, just a bit shorter.

    Driver compliment:
6.5" dynamic woofer with 26" Midrange- tweeter ribbon.
    Frequency response:
Below 40 Hz to over 25 kHz.
    Recommended power:
    High current 40w min.
    Impedance nominal/min:
    6.0/ 4.0
    Dimension (H x W x D):
    55 x 12 x 4 (inches)
    Price (1996)
    $2200

For 700$ i cannot think of a better inwall.

Lots of music but not enough time for it all
