    Snakes on a Plane...

"Snakes on a Plane" - B Plus - Don't believe the hype and don't believe the swipes. If you put aside the incredible hype machine that pushed this movie and just suspend belief you'll be treated with a better than average popcorn muncher of a thriller that rates right up there with "Jackass The Movie" as a guilty pleasure. Samuel L does what Samuel L does, he screams, he hollah's, he cusses, he shoots things and people. It's al in good fun. You get to see snakes bite people in the places we'd always WISHED we'd see snakes bite people. All in all it was a hoot, all in all it was fun.

    "It ain't Shakespeare. It's......MF'in Snakes on a MF'in Plane!"

-If I remember correctly, these were Samuel L's exact words on
The Daily Show (except he said the whole "MF'in" word with
bleeps thrown in to protect the innocent).

That does sound like Samuel L. I love that guy.

Also if you haven’t, check him out in the ‘93 movie Bobby Brown. He is one cool MF'er

I finally saw this movie last night. I came out of it feeling gipped, but in hindsight, there is a piece of me that enjoyed it a great deal.

Yes, snakes bit people in some dubious places -- in hindsight, that was the point.

I love the treatment of the male attendant character -- fully utilizing a stereotype, but then going someplace I don't think I remember seeing before.

I liked the treatment of the overall movie as a disaster movie, rather than a monster herd/hive/grouping/whatever flick. And as a "budding buddy" flick.

I thought the snakes themselves were terrible.

Also, there were several characters that should have gotten it that didn't.

I'm glad it wasn't longer, though I wish they had shown the bad guy what's what.

    Overall...jury still out.
