    Question A wire question.

I want to buy new wire for my HT.I need ( 3 ) 5' lenghts of wire. center, left & right speakers.I will have 100watts going to each speaker. Will I need to buy wire larger than 16 ga.? I am using 16ga. wire for two surround speakers which are 15 ' away LS (100w),RS(100w) , is 16ga. wire too small ? Thank you for your time!

16 gauge would be fine. Ideally your front 3 should be the same length and the length of the L/R rear should be the same.

At some point you might want to try a higher quality speaker connect to see if you hear any difference or enough to warrant the price of the upgrade.

Also just to clarify..please realize that you're not getting anywhere near 100 watts to all 5 speakers.

Yah,I think at the most it is only 80watts.The Kenwood sales sticker reads 100x6 but,I think it is only 80x5 w/ 100watts mono for the powered subwoofer. Thanks everyone for the info.& tips!
