Carver Receivers

Anyone have expirence with Carver receivers? if so, what are your thoughts on overall sound quality. I'm thinking of purchasing one for my stereo only room. Any advice on which model I should consider?

the first thing is you need to do is make sure that it is functioning correctly. nothing worse than losing perfectly good drivers because of a faulty amp. i did this very thing with the Carver Receiver without having it checked out first.

that said, i do like this receiver very much. they came in two flavors, 135wpc and 150wpc, but i know of a couple of techs who have measured both models, and they say they spec out identically.

now that i have mine running, i am very happy with its sound. not quite sure how to describe it, but it has a very clean and engaging quality to the sound.
