    Post 20 Highest grossing films (adjusted for inflation).

    This list of movies become interesting when price of tickets sold at the time is adjusted to today’s dollars ($6.58). And ranked according to how many tickets (in the USA) each movie sold.

    Gone with the Wind-which have the highest gross-had four releases theatrically (in 1939, 1954, 1961 and 1971).

    Also keep in mind that more people would have been able to see some of the older films if the population was adjusted as well. It would be interesting to see how many people would have seen GONE WITH THE WIND or SNOW WHITE by todays 6 Billion world population.

    That is a good point PeruvianSkies considering that at 1940s, the world population were only around 2 billion people. And USA had only 130 million Vs today’s 300 millions.
