Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang

I don't recall anyone mentioning this overlooked film. With Lucky # Slevin getting some discussion, I thought I'd mention another somewhat "pulpy" gem. Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang was released theatrically earlier this year to critical acclaim, but was a major flop. I rented it, then I bought it. It's basically a seedy, noir-ish detective film with "Hollyweird" as the back drop. It's got a cast of great actors, with Val Kilmer and Robert Downey, Jr. in the best roles they've chosen in a long time. It was written and directed by Shane Black, the guy who penned Lethal Weapon, The Last Boy Scout, etc. It really is fresh, with lots of one liners filling the snappy dialogue. The action is fast, and the story never stops moving. Just a really fun, fun movie.
