    Paging BarryL and Audiobill

An interesting history of Massey Hall at this link. It includes some of the people who have performed there, ticket prices, and why the ceiling is encased in chicken wire.

Thanks for the link............what a cool place...........all that history.

But..........They left out a significant date that even I know about:

    1995
Centuries (licensed bar and lounge) opens.

    March, 2005
Forever Autumn and MasterCylinder pass out blind drunk from excessive martini consumption at "An Evening with Dream Theater".

Oh that sounds like so much fun! Well, not the passing out drunk part (especially if it happens before the show is over), but the having a martini with MC part. Although, it looks like you started early...like, a year early. Hehehe.

    Tres cool....

Thanks for the cool link, FA.

I'm going to take a closer look at this one, when I get home from work.

One of my fondest memories of old Massey was when I was fifteen years old and I got to see Angus Young of AC/DC perform with the original singer Bon Scott (who passed away soonafter we saw them). Also, Meatloaf's Bat Out of Hell was a blast, esp., since we had seats to the side of the stage -- in between every couple of songs, Meatloaf would be behind the curtain flopping on a chair with a mask strapped to his face, breathing in pure oxygen from two huge oxygen tanks. Of course, most of the audience couldn't see this; but we could. Tres cool.

    Thanks-a-ton,

    Bill

Yes, well..........unfortunately that is my reputation.

But I promise one hell of a night.

Haven't checked the link yet, but I do remember:

    The Tubes
    Nazareth
    Jethro Tull
    Harry Chapin
    Van Der Graff Generator
    Symphonic Slam
    Tom Waits
    The Moody Blues
    Ricky Lee Jones
    Tears For Fears
    Emerson Lake & Palmer
    Gordon Lightfoot
    Dream Theater
    Yes
    Pat Metheney Group

Actually, there are probably more that I don't remember than that I do remember.

    Hey, Barry.

Looks like we were at some of the same Massey gigs: Tubes & Tull.

Off the top of my head, I can add...

    The Tragically Hip
    Gowan
Crowded House (with Cheryl Crow opening, just after Leaving Las Vegas was released as a single...we had never heard of her).
    Trans-Siberian Orchestra
    Alice Cooper
    Steve Miller Band

Like Barry said...I'm sure there's more that I can't think of right now.
